Disciple of the legendary Pazhani Subramania Pillai and torchbearer of the Pudukkottai school, Sri Dorai has completed 60 years of concert performance. His vast experience of accompanying many giants of Carnatic music explains his uncannily superb and perfect anticipation of the musical nuances. The highlights of his style are his masterful and effortless playing on the Thoppi and the gumkis. His style is the perfect blend between old and new traditions.
