More over, it is in this place that Lord Shiva got rid of his Brahmahatti Dosha on account of killing Daksha by worsshiping Lord Vishnu. The story goes thatLord Vishnu had come in this guise of an old man and asked the Saga salihotra for food and shelter. The Lord asked the saga “Evvul” (where to stay). And the saga had raplied pointing to his hut as “lvvul” (inside the hut). Hence the name is called “Thiruevvul”.
