Thiruallikeni (now called in english as Triplicane) situated in chennai, is one of the 108 Divya Desam or Holy Abode of Lord Vishnu, wherein Sri Parthasarathy Temple is located. The name 'parthasarathy', in Sanskrit, means the 'charioteer of Arjuna', and Lord Krishna is worshipped in this temple in that holy form sporting a moustache. Lord Venkatesa of the seven hills manifested here as Sri Krishna acceding to the plea of King Sumati and so the moolar here is named as Sri Venkatakrishna.

This temple is unique as a devotee can have darshan of all the five postures of the Lord Lord Parthasarathy in the standing form, Sri Narasimha in the sitting posture, Sri Ranganatha reclining in the serpant bed, Sri Rama walking majestically and the Sri Varada flying seated on Garuda. The main sanctum houses the entire family of Sri Krishna – consort Rukmani pirattiyar, borther Balarama, son Pradyumna, Grand son Aniruddhaa and finally Saatyaki. Tirumangai azhvar has sung ten verses on this shrine.
