Pasurappadi Ramayanam

Periya Vachan Pillai is the king of commentators Vyakyana Chakravarthy as he is rightly called. He is the only one to have given a commentary on all 4000 Divya prabhandams. These priceless and invaluable commentaries are incisive, probing and thought provoking. One of his greatest contributions to Tamil Literature is the Pasurappadi Ramayanam, a compilation of the Ramayanam sourced entirely from the Divya Prabhandams. These beautiful verses cover all the six Khandams of the Ramayanam.

The hallmark of this DVD is the exquisite and erudite commentary on each Khandam given by Sri Velukkudi Krishnan Swamy, who is a household name all over South India. Sri Velukkudi Krishnan Swamy is a renowned spiritual teacher and is proficient in many scriptural texts. He has given many discourses all over India and abroad. Smt. Vasundhra Rajagopal has set the Pasurappadi Ramayanam to music (using 33 ragas) and rhythm presenting it in a highly creative format, interspersed with relevant Pasurams. She is a senior Carnatic musician of repute known for her soulful and innovative music. She has traveled extensively giving concerts and her recent endeavor (Pasurappadi Ramayanam) has been well received by the audience.
