Sada Sharanam, a tribute to the guru and composer, Shri Ravikiran, aims to encapsulate some of the scintillating pieces of the master musician through a set of instructional DVDs where the student gets the benefit of learning various genres of compositions from the maestro himself. Shri Ravikiran has also provided the background/inspiration behind the compositions along with insights about the musical and mathematical nuances intended by him. The product includes tana varnams, pada varnams, krtis and tillanas in entertaining and popular ragas as well as evocative rakti ragas. A spell-binding and unique Pancha raga, pancha tala, pancha jati malika tillana, enhances the colour of the presentation.
Ravikiran (www.ravikiranmusic.com), hailed as "an unprecedented phenomenon" when he made his debut at the age of two (in 1969) with an uncanny ability to identify and demonstrate 325 ragas and 175 talas and answer numerous other technical questions posed by several stalwarts, gave his first vocal concert at five and first chitravina recital at the age of 12 and is today, one of the most sought after artistes in the world.
