Udaiyalur S. Kalyanaraman grew up under the guidance of the famous musician, Tiruvidaimarudur Venkatrama Bhagavatar. His music is mesmerizing and replete with devotion. Every raga is used to bring out the beauty of the perfectly pronounced lyrics. His voice has a quality that is magnetic. Above all he imparts "soul" to Nama Sankeerthanam with an abandon rarely heard. His Nama Sankeerthanam personifies divinity in melody. 

He has been performing Dakshina Bharatha Sampradaya Bhajan all over India and Abroad for the past 25 years. He is a recipient of many awards and titles, Bhagavatha Seva Rathna, Namasankirtana Ratna to name a few.
