‘Kambavarithi’’ IlangaiJeyaraj was born in Nalloor,Srilankaand completed his education in traditional gurukulam, graduated from the Yazh Hindu College, in Srilanka.    In 1980, at the age of 23, he established “AkilaIlangaiKambanKazhagam”  and in  1995, he initiated the “Colombo KambanKazhagam” .‘‘Kambavarithi’’ IlangaiJeyaraj  conducts ‘KambanVizha’, ‘ IsaiVelvi’  and  ‘NatakaVelvi’  every year respective  to the three divisions of  Tamil, ‘Iyal’, ‘Isai’, ‘Natakam’  and contributes to the dissemination of Tamil Language. With his Thirukural discourses and classes on SaivaSiddhantha, ‘’Kambavarithi’’ is a devoted Tamilian who has dedicated his mind, body and soul to this beautifulTamil language.
